Sonesta Farms currently offers the following quality horses for your consideration:

Farrah - 2002 gray Oldenburg mare by Frohwind out of a TB mare. Frohwind is a 5-star stallion and is one of the country's top producers of competition horses. This mare is absolutely stunning and a joy to ride.  She is light, forward, willing and loves people.  Never lays on your hand and responds instantly to your leg, here is a warmblood that is not difficult to put together for dressage. She has had two years of professional dressage training and has been shown through 2nd level in dressage. For a lark (and after only two weeks of training over fences!) she was taken to an "A" hunter show where she was champion in two divisions!!!  No one could believe she had just started jumping. She really seems to enjoy it and could make a really fancy hunter.  If you are looking for something really special to show, you just MUST see this girl. Update, she's now showing and winning in the 3' jumpers!  What a versatile girl!  See video clips below.  $12,000

Fillistern - 2001 Dark bay Hanoverian mare by Feiner Stern and out of Wallstreet. Feiner Stern is generally regarded in Germany as one of the century's top producer of broodmares, with many of the most successful dressage stars and breeding stallions coming out of his daughter.  These mare are highly prized and very seldom offered for sale. Now you can have your own.  Filli's dam was imported from Germany where she was a show jumper.  Filli is 16.2 hands tall and has already produced a premium foal by Routinier that tied for champion of his foal inpsection. This mare is so sweet and gentle.  She rides beautifully with smooth gates and real impulsion.  She is in the main mare books of both the American Hanoverian Society and the Oldenburg Verband.  Filli would be a lovely dressage horse or could excel in the hunter ring with her smooth flowing gaits and calm manner.  At just 60 days under saddle she was already willingly giving flying lead changes!  $15,000

Congratulations to Kim Luijjten on the purchase of this wonderful horse.  Look for them in the dressage shows in the Houston area beginning this fall!

Lance - Looking for a quiet FEI dressage schoolmaster?  Here is he!  Lance is a 1992 bay Holsteiner gelding by Landgraf I.  He was imported from Germany at age seven, where he competed very successfully to the equivalent of our Fourth Level in dressage and was schooling all the Grand Prix movements. After being imported he was switched to the show jumpers, where he went on to compete at Grand Prix level with International show jumping rider Christian Rogge and in the Junior Jumpers with his teenaged owner.  When his owner went off to college he was purchased by a student at Sonesta Farms where he went back into dressage and spent a couple years teaching his rider the basics and showing with her in Training and First Level.  His owner has developed some serious back issues and can no longer sit the big warmblood trot, so he is being made available to some lucky dressage rider who wants to learn from this wonderful boy.  He has a fantastic, kind temperament.  He is in full work with a USDF Silver Medalist who says he can be shown competitively up to Intermediare I right now!  He will require some hock injections every year - as would any horse his age - but he is not on any other medications or supplements. He could also be used as an upper level lesson horse, as he is happy to work with multiple riders.  Horses like this are hard to find, so come see him and take him for a test ride.  $25,000

Chumani Noir - 2004 Bay Pinto Oldenburg mare registered with the German Oldenburg Verband.  She is by the black Hilltop Farm stallion, Cor Noir.  Kona is a full 16.3 hands and growing.  Lovely easy movement and a good quiet willing mind. She has been shown once in dressage (with a novice student rider!) and scored a 68% .  Regularly ridden by students, she is very suited to an amateur rider. This one could also excel in the eventing world.  As a foal, this mare was featured many times in magazine photos and calendars all over the world.  $15,000

Congratulations Peggy Krueger of Houston on the purchase of this very special boy. Peggy reports that both she and her trainer are in love with him. Hey, we had no doubts on that issue!

Talk Around Town - We call him Kacey (and sometimes "Honeybug").  Kacey is an Appaloosa/TB cross gelding standing 15.3 hands.  He is confirmed at 2nd level Dressage with scores in the upper 60s.  A wonderful, kind, willing boy that is a steady-eddy whether at the shows on on the trail.  A true confidence-builder, he'll take good care of you, whether you are a child or adult.  You don't want to miss this guy. Horses of this kind or temperament and ability and experience are VERY hard to find.  He sells with his own custom built saddle by Schleese ($4800 value!).  Owner doesn't want to sell, but MUST.  $7500 includes the saddle that carries a lifetime warranty for fit.  See a video of Kacey under saddle below showing off his moves with a rider who'd never been on him before.

BF IMPERIAL FYRE - A stunning 2002 son of Fyre One (*Aladdinn x Fyre Love x *Bask) out of Saturns Diamond (Imperial Saturn x Diamond Facets x Diamond Padron). This gorgeous blood bay  is winning on the line in halter and is showing great promise in his under saddle work. A full, true 15.2 hands tall, with lovely conformation, perfect head and neck, good legs and exquisite movement, he has tons of presence. The legendary Arabian trainer, Rhita McNair, says he is a "true star of the future." He's been featured in many calendars and magazine features all over the world.  His temperament is very suitable to a junior or amateur, but is expressive enough for a pro.

His pedigree is impeccable. His sire, Fyre One was by *Aladdinn, the leading living Polish sire of champions, with 269 champions and 64 National winners through 1998. Fyre One's dam was none other than Fyre-Love, who stands in the record books as selling for $1.5 million in the Bask Classic Sale in 1985 - the second highest price EVER PAID for an Arabian mare at public auction. Fyre-Love's dam was the legendary *Bask, who was, quite simply, the most influential and widely recognized Arabian horse of the 20th century. BF Imperial Fyre's dam, Saturns Diamond, is by the multi-champion Egyptian stallion, Imperial Saturn, who continues to win in all areas of performance including dressage, hunter, side-saddle and Country English Pleasure - as well as halter. Her damsire is Diamond Padron, the exceptionally good son of the famous Padron.  See under saddle video of a teenaged dressage student taking a lesson at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atd7C3mEQds     $6,000.
